Well my BMT is coming to a close on the 10th and we're preparing for a grand parade at BMTC. The parade rehearsal is a killer, can u imagine 5 hours of rehearsal under the hot sun with your rifle and vest and helmet. I seriously felt like a bbq chicken but i think this parade would be worth it because of all the hard trainings we have to put through, the shoutings and the lack of sleep that have drained us mentally.
Overall i would say that BMT is a mix experience for me. Personally, it has made me be the fittest i've ever been in my entire life. Based on my IPPT result which i did recently and got silver for it, i've improved tremendously. I shaved off 2 minutes 15 seconds from my first IPPT (2.4km from 12:15 to 10:35 now, 5 points), i jumped 23 cm further ( SBJ 220 to 243 cm, 5 points), i pulled 4 more (Chin-up from 8 to 12, 5 points), i ran 0.3 seconds faster (shuttle run 9.8 to 9.5 seconds) did a sit up of 43 (from 31). I managed to scored 24 out of 25 points and its a silver merit due to my 2.4 km which requires a timing of 9:45 (impossible for me :S) to get Gold merit. This is the best IPPT/NAPFA that i've done, so its still a personal best for me and im quite happy about it.
If you were to asked me to share some of the experience that i've faced in BMT.....i would say ....
Ask me on Thursday....thats when everything is over and the worst is yet to come.
