GEEKY CONTINUUM

6/14/2008 11:36:00 PM Every year, im always looking forward to all the IT/PC shows in Singapore and today was no exception. This time, i brought some reinforcement....Braden and Nisa.

We met around 1pm and had lunch at sakura (capitol) before heading to suntec.
The crowd was crazy at the city link underpass. There, i saw many nerds and fellow geeks alike discussing so enthusiastically about the stuff that they're gonna buy.

Well, initially my plan there was just to assist Braden on his first camera purchase. The good thing that he does is that he already did his research and therefore it made my life much easier as he himself have narrowed down some of the models and brands that he is interested in.

We went to canon booth first and saw some of the deals that they are offering. There aren't any new camera launch but they gave a better freebies this time. We went in and went out of the booth in a matter of 10 minutes cause i recommended my Canon Ixus 860IS to Braden which is in fact one of the best point and shoot camera Canon ever made, with great reviews and functions. One thing so ma fan about Braden is that he is soooo fickle minded.....he can't even decide on a camera color and kept changing his mind.

After purchasing the camera, he told me and nisa that we psycho-ed him into buying this camera without even going to other booth....I MEAN PLEASE LA!.......me and nisa are photographers....and we know what is good and what is bad....must TRUST our recommendations....hahaha.

Next, we headed straight to creative booth to look for an MP3 player. This time we became one of the hardest customer to that poor sales boy.....lol. Braden wanted the creative zen but he doesn't like the freebies given and me and nisa needed earphones and we tried to pursuade the sales boy to help us change the 2 freebies (travel charger+ X-fi thingy) to 2 creative EP830 in ear earphones which cost about $70+ each...lol...blood sucker.

He said he'll try to speak to his manager about it and to our surprise we got it!! but we had to pay extra $20....soo weird. Anyway, besides the 2 quite expensive earphones, Braden got a 2.0 speaker which happens to be in the same package and i have been eye-ing the speakers ever since it came out due to it's great review and performance. The thing about it is that he doesn't need a speaker cause he doesn't play music that loud either.....therefore i made a deal with him to sell me the speaker instead and he agreed.....WOOOOOOOO......i got the speakers!!!...hahahah

To be honest, Braden is the fastest IT shopper at an IT event that i know of. I would probably take much much longer when buying stuff. He probably had spent almost $1000 in a matter of 2-3 hours...lol...just on Camera and Mp3 player...hahaha...

It's still not over.....since Braden got a $30 shopping voucher at Taka, we decided to help him spent on things that he needed. Seriously....i have no clue what to buy at Taka with $30, so we suggested getting a bag or something like that. Went to the Billabong section and thank god they're having sale and braden got a wallet and belt for $30...hahahah good deal!

Next, we had dinner at LJS cineleisure and Braden kept commenting how odd we look, cause the people there are mostly Emos or punk metal and we are like soooo decent looking...hahaha. Stupid Braden kept making joke on how they would beat me up....kns...

After that, we went to marsiling to get our army specs. Braden was quite skeptical about how cheap the spec was. Anyway, now that i have my specs done, my Army checklist is COMPLETE and done....yay!! weeee....

PS: Braden got approached by a modelling/talent agency today while on the way to suntec and Nisa abandoned him when he was asked for his particulars!! HAHAHAHA ....i can't believe a modelling agency approached him....hehehe his reaction was HILARIOUS!!.....I didn't know anything about this cause i was walking much ahead of them....lol...and the whole day Braden kept acting cute and asking me and nisa if he can be a model......*faint*
