GEEKY CONTINUUM

1/01/2007 09:59:00 PM Well yesterday was Hari Raya Haji and as usual my family and the rest of my extended family would be gathering at my grandparents house for the usual eating/gossiping and catching up. Great to see my cousins and my cute nieces/nephews.


Anyway it was the end of 2006 and the beginning of a new year. While many people went out partying to celebrate the coming of a new year, i on the other hand didn't. Around 9 pm i told my parents that i wanted to celebrate the new year alone in the park very late at night. They were quite hesitant about my safety especially at that time of hour. Okay...im not some emo guy....its just that i like to be alone sitting at a quiet place looking at the sky.....

Took my bike, my sweater and my flashlight and off to West Coast Park. It was pretty humid in the park and i was like sweating inside. Lots of people were there with their family and friends and i was there alone looking like some weirdo sitting and listening to his ipod and constantly looking at his watch.

At the stroke of midnight, thats when everything began....
People cheering and wishing each other a "Happy New Year" and surprisingly there were lots of firework near the yacht club and another great view is when all the vessels near the port shot their SOS fire gun thingy to the sky and you get to see the streak of red light all over the sky.....i mean its like a synchronize firework show.....hmmm this must be one of the benefit living near a park which happens to have a sea port near by....hehehe...i love it!
