Aniways last friday or perhaps the last module before the holidays was a culture module. We already heard that we have to do something about races so i was telling janice abt which role play was the best. But somehow we didnt get the role play that we wanted and in the end got the hardest role play in the problem statement. Note to anyone who have not done Problem 9 culture DO NOT....i repeat DO NOT take the role play regarding the Eurasian unless ur fac gave u extra time to present. Our fac was glad that we took the eurasian culture as she felt it was a challenge to us...hmmm....its definitely a challenge My team were really frustrated that we did not get to do abt the chinese because chinatown is much nearer to our school compared to Katong which is like so freaking far. We do not have any ideas abt the background or the culture of the Eurasians. So everything was a new to us. So our plan was to go to esplande where there is one 'Peranakan' costumes But it was closed so we decided to walk abt 400m to ACM (Asian Civilization Museum) cose we heard that there was an exhibition regarding it. But to our surprise...IT WAS THE WRONG MUSEUM but luckily the other one was not that far. So we walked abt 600m under the hot sun. We reached the other ACM@Armenian and it was the correct one but we couldnt take any pics...damn!!! I suggested to Janice and Ming Jie that we give a shot to go to Katong since the people at ACM@Armenian gave us a list of place to visit. So we took a cab from city hall to katong. When we reached at Katong we thought our bad luck were gone but well well it is just the beginning. The Peranakan Antique house didnt let us take any picture either and we need to have appointment.....grrrr!!!!...so we decided to just present peranakan food since its much easier. Then found this very good auntie which helped us with identity of the 'Kueihs'. We actually bought one of everything and cost us like $10 just for the 'Kueihs'and the auntie also gave us some shops to visit. We finally found one shop which let us took lots of pictures ....YAY!! we got lots of picture and janice got to try this hot Nonya Kebaya which she is in love with. So everything is completed and we're left with 1 hr till presentation. We thought of taking the train but it is just taking too long so again....we took a cab back to school. With 30 mins left i try my best to do posters regarding peranakan...and damn it look nice...hehehehe..... Aniways total cab fare = $22 Price of Kueihs = $10 Knowledge = Priceless so here is my art work. ![]() Heres my poster abt the costumes The food poster Janice was in love with the modern peranakan jacket..hahah maybe because it look slimming..lol That is the nice lady who let us take pics of her shop and she helped janice with the costumes Janice in Traditional costume (no comments) My team during the beginning of the presentation![]() Theres janice presenting abt the kueihs ![]() Hehehe food and more food
